Psychological and physical aspects come into play when a man gets an erection. The process is very complex and cannot be taken for granted. Some men and women assume that erectile dysfunction (ED) is a part of the aging process. This simply is not true. After years of study in the medical community, the consensus is that the majority of cases of erectile dysfunction are normally a result of factors such as health conditions, medicines, or habits that interfere with blood flow around the body and the penis.
Lets’ review four causes why you might be experiencing weak or no erections.
Alcohol
Excessive alcohol abuse has long been recognized as one of the most prevalent causes of ED. Alcoholism can lead to atrophy of the testicles and lower testosterone levels, which can in many cases led to erectile dysfunction.
High blood pressure
High blood pressure also called hypertension can cause major changes in your blood vessels. The changes are not good – they many times lead your blood vessels to stiffen or narrow. In addition, this can restrict the blood flow to your penis, which leads to erectile problems. It has been determined some medicines used to treat hypertension can also play a part in your having erectile dysfunction.
Aging
Since most men feel like age is the primary reason they experience impotence, let’s get the stats out in the open. First of all, dysfunction is more likely to happen as a man gets older, particularly after he’s 55. The occurrence of impotence is 40% in men 40 years old, and 68% in those aged 70 years of age.
However, ED can happen at any age, even after years of gratifying sex. Clinical studies show health issues in older men, such as vascular diseases and diabetes, accounts for the growth in ED with age.
Diabetes
Diabetes is a disease marked by high levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood. There are two main types of diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Whether you have Type 1 or Type 2, diabetes is a common risk factor for erectile dysfunction, and men with diabetes are up to four times as likely as other men to experience impotence. They also tend to experience ED at a younger age.
The causes listed above are just a few of numerous reasons of why you are experiencing erectile dysfunction. The good news is there is a solution for your embarrassing problem. No man young or old wants to discuss this issue out loud with anyone. It’s a matter of pride. I understand that feeling because I have been in your shoes.
You could take Viagra or Cialis, but the side effects are hard to swallow. I’m not willing to put my life on the line for a stiff one. So, the next best thing is to try a sexual enhancement oil or crème. The best products on the market have absolutely no side effects and they work fast. And by fast, I mean you rub the crème on your penis and within less than a minute you have a hard penis.
So, even though you have to contend with diabetes, or you made some mistakes in your life and you are paying the consequences for drinking too much alcohol or you are just getting older, that is no reason to give up on your sex life. Sexual enhancement oil is giving men like you a second chance in life. Isn’t it time you started impressing between the sheets again?
Penis pumps or pump extenders or vacuum pumps all are synonyms that are often used interchangeably. These pumps have a long history and have been commercially available since 1985. The term “penis pump” is often used to describe special devices that are meant to “temporarily” increase length and girth of the penis by gently tugging the penis.
As you continue to wear the pump, you will adjust the traction so that the penis is stretched gradually. Results occur immediately but are of short term and subside within few hours. While these pumps are in frequent use today, there are quite a few common misconceptions in the general public regarding their indication or utility. Most men, for example, mistakenly believe that these pump extenders are meant to cause permanent enlargement or elongation of the penis, which is not the case.
What are penis pumps?
A penis pump is a cylinder that is fitted over the penis, with a manual or motorized pump to create suction. As the apparatus creates a vacuum around the penis, blood is drawn into the penis, helping it to become engorged. The higher the vacuum, the higher the blood-pressure becomes within the penis; excessive pressure causes vascular damage rather than a harder penis. Penis pump – Principle of working
A typical penis pump consists of a clear plastic cylinder and a pump which may be hand or battery operated. The flaccid penis is placed in the cylinder and an air-tight seal is obtained with a lubricating gel with the plastic cylinder pressed firmly down against the body. A partial vacuum is created by pumping the air out from inside the cylinder.
The penis becomes filled up with blood and, when hard enough for intercourse, a plastic ring is slipped from the end of the cylinder around the base of the penis. This traps blood in the penis and the erection can be safely maintained for up to 30 minutes. Some people prefer to use two constriction rings to obtain a stronger and better maintained erection.
The device is effective for many men although it may take up to two weeks for you to learn how to use it properly. When you’ve got it right, it usually takes two to three minutes for you to get a usable erection.
Here, it should be noted that it is because of this “erection-producing” capability that the pump extenders are useful in the temporary treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Drawbacks of using penis pumps
Like other methods, the use of penis pumps does have its own pitfalls and drawbacks such as:
Short-term solution: Pumps do work as a treatment for impotence, although the problem is that when you take the pump off, the vacuum is gone, so the blood tends to leave the penis very quickly, and you lose your erection.
No permanent / real enlargement: As a penis enlargement method, the same problem applies. You will get extra size as long as the pump is on, but take it off and you’ll go straight back to where you were before. At best, you will get temporary enlargement but it soon fades back to your normal size. Overuse, or misuse by increasing the vacuum too quickly, could lead to tissue scarring or penis deformation.
In a study published in British journal or Urology (Volume 97, Issue 4, pages 777–778, April 2006), 37 sexually active men were given vacuum pump treatment three times a week, for 20 min on each occasion, for 6 months. The researchers concluded that though vacuum treatment of the penis did provide psychological satisfaction for some men, it is not an effective method for penile elongation.
Another study was conducted in Britain where a group of men was allowed to use penis pumps. The study found that the penis pump actually worked, but on average, it only increased the size of the penis by 0.3 centimeters.
Limited usefulness: Pumps are particularly useful for men in a stable relationship who can’t get an erection for physical reasons and for whom the only alternative would be putting in a penile prosthesis. It is less attractive to single men and for those with psychological erectile dysfunction. A third of the partners noted that the penis felt colder than normal when a pump was used.
Safety risks: There are also quite serious safety risks with penis pumps. When using anything mechanical on the penis, there is a risk that you could burst capillaries, get blisters or, even worse, develop improper circulation leading to possible impotence and a whole host of other problems. In some cases the testicles can be unexpectedly pulled into the cylinder and cause severe pain and injury.
It is also believed that the rim of the cylinder can cut into the skin and over time cause damage to the ligaments surrounding the penis. Impatiently pumping without reading explanatory material can produce too much suction (anything over 10 mm Hg) and cause permanent injury. Therefore, pumping must be done very carefully to avoid injury.

One in every ten men is effected by erectile dysfunction. Thankfully in most cases the problem is easily cured and the majority of men can continue to lead a sexually active and satisfying life.
What is ED?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is defined as the ‘repeated inability to get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse despite being aroused.’ Keep in mind that the ‘occasional’ inability to achieve an erection is not a problem, the problem is significant only when it is a constant issue.
What are the symptoms?
The symptoms vary drastically. Essentially it is a lack of adequate flow of blood into the penile area that results in a weak erection. In normal circumstances, veins carry blood into the spongy tissue of the penis and keep it blocked there until the man ejaculates. Any obstruction in this flow of blood will result in erectile dysfunction.
Who is at risk?
Ed is likely to occur in those who suffer from medical issues such as heart diseases, high BP, obesity, nerve damage, injury to pelvic area, prostrate surgery and substance abuse.
Those who have crossed the 65 year mark are highly susceptible to the disease.
Those who are prone to depression, stress, anxiety and other such problems can fall prey to ED too. In fact, medication prescribed for these problems is often known to affect the flow of blood to the penis.
Those with a family history of ED are definitely more susceptible to falling prey to the problem.
There are several signs that can help in diagnosing the problem. Loss of interest in sex, dropping frequency of sex, frustration, lowered intimacy with partner, poor erection, premature ejaculation and even an erection that does not sustain for long are all signs of erectile dysfunction.
Treatments
There are lots of treatments that can be used to cure ED. There are prescription drugs like Viagra Levitra and Cialis that are said to be effective, though they do have their side effects. There are surgical options, needle injection therapy, penis pumps and penis exercises that are also available.
Among all these solutions, natural herbal pills, such as MaleExtra and its ingredients have been known to be quite effective in treating erectile dysfunction for centuries and that is why we highly recommend it.
Sex is not just about the size of the penis; however, the size does matter when it comes to the pleasure quotient of the sexual activity. Studies have shown that men who have a small penis usually suffer from low self esteem, since they feel that they will not be able to satisfy their partner in bed. Low self esteem can lead to other sexual dysfunctions like premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction.
Women between 20 to 25 years said that the size of the penis does matter to them. Most admitted the length was not that much of a factor, but the width or girth mattered quite a bit…others state that both mattered but in different degrees. A Netherlands survey revealed that 20% of women felt that the length of the penis was more important while 21% gave the position to the girth of the penis.
So, yes size does matter and sometimes much more than in the obvious way.
While some men are satisfied by their size, most others would really be happier with a few more inches in their pants. A larger penis boosts the morale of the man, who is happy to show off his package to the ladies. With increased confidence in the bedroom, a natural rise in libido occurs that helps in bettering the relationship between the couple.
There is no denying the fact that couples who are not satisfied in bed tend to take to their frustration out on each other often. This leads to the drift in the relationship. This is one of the main reasons why men will often look at penis enhancement methods in order to increase the size of their penis in order to better their sex life.
Again, yes, a larger penis does help make the sex between couples.
Of course a large penis that cannot sustain an erection for any length of time is not of much use; however, in most cases a large penis does symbolize longer erections that, in turn, symbolizes better sex. While some people maybe happy with a small penis , most men and women would rather work with a larger one. I tend to agree.
You may not suffer from erectile dysfunction right now, but if you want to keep it that way you might want to read up on some of the preventative solutions below. Also, you might want to be aware of these statistics:
Five percent of men suffer from impotency before 40 years of age; 20% have the problem by the time they are 65. There is good news….erectile dysfunction is curable. But the best advice is to prevent it from happening in the first place.
So, lets discuss some of the preventative measures you can take.
Balanced life – Maintain a balance between exercise, nutrition and sleep. Exercise helps in carrying oxygen to the various parts of the body and thereby keeps the blood vessels functioning at their peak.
Obesity – If you are obese, chances of ED increase automatically. Begin by bringing your weight down in a healthy way. Remember your heavy weight leads to vascular diseases that may affect the blood vessels, which in turn causes ED. Vascular diseases account for 70% of the physical issues that are known to cause ED.
Nutrition – Eat foods that are rich in Vitamin E, Zinc and Arginine. While Vitamin E increases flow of blood, Zinc increases testosterone levels and Arginine helps in producing nitric oxide that keeps blood vessels relaxed.
Diabetes – Monitoring your blood sugar levels will help in catching the problem early. Control your sugar levels if you find them touching the dangerous mark. Maintaining good blood sugar levels help in keeping the blood vessels of the body functioning optimally and thereby preventing erectile dysfunction.
So, if you are in your late 30′s or early 40′s, review the tips above. Why suffer with erectile dysfunction when you can prevent it altogether.
For hundreds maybe thousands of years there have been numerous debates about the size of the penis and if it affect’s a man’s ability to function. While no clear cut answer has been found, a more relevant question here should be does age matter?
Old Age and Erectile Dysfunction
It is a proven fact that as we grow older, the functions of our body slow down. Right from the metabolic rate to sexual performance, everything goes on a decline. Apart from the hormonal changes in the body, stress, lifestyle and nutrition also contributes to make an older person less effective. This is why ED is a problem that is often associated with those over the age of 40.
Here, the issue is not of length or girth of the penis but more about its ability to achieve and maintain an erection long enough to last through the sexual episode. A drop in libido is also caused by the quality of relationship between the two partners and can often cause ED.
Of course, this is not to say that younger men cannot fall prey to ED. About 52% of all men will suffer from ED and while the scales do tilt toward the older section, younger men also contribute to this statistic. Right from a physical, psychological or physiological factor, almost anything can lead to ED.
Signs of Erectile Dysfunction
Inability to achieve a full erection and maintain it is the first sign of ED. Those who find that the problem occurs often should seek a diagnosis from a qualified doctor. Bad eating habits, lack of sleep, increased stress are few of the factors that lead to ED. Erectile dysfunction, in turn, causes anxiety and depression, which aggravates the situation further.
Herbal pills, such as MaleExtra are known to cure ED mainly due to the fact that they do not have side effects and the herbs offer a holistic treatment for the problem. If the cause of the problem lies in a medical ailment like diabetes or high BP, then treatment for these diseases will need to be followed for controlling the ED effects.
